Better Security for Guest ACE Accounts Coming January 5

UNLV is enhancing security measures for ACE accounts by rolling out multifactor authentication (MFA) for guests on Jan. 5.

How MFA works
To prevent unauthorized users from accessing accounts, MFA requires guests to use their ACE username and password and an additional verification method to prove their identity when logging into campus applications.

What to expect on Jan. 5
If MFA is not already set up, guests will be prompted to enroll when they log into an application for the first time on Jan. 5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the one-time enrollment.

Get ready for MFA logins
1. Pick an additional verification method to use.
2. Know your ACE username and password (reset your password if you forgot it).
3. Bring your smartphone or other device to get a text or other notification to complete login.

For more information, visit the MFA site or contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
