OIT Employees Attend 2023 NAB Show

Employees from the office of information technology were among the 65,000+ people who attended the 2023 NAB Show, the centennial celebration for the broadcasting media, entertainment, and technology industries, between April 15 and April 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Frank Alaimo, interim manager of classroom technology services, met with vendors about product roadmaps and discussed the effects of the pandemic impacted technology and classroom designs with other audiovisual (AV) managers from R1 universities.

Joe Chroback, John Contreras, and PT Thennakoon from the classroom technology services team attended the convention to learn more about the next generation of AV equipment, including new IP video cameras, microphones, AV network switches, and direct view LED video walls. They also talked to engineers on how to solve current technology issues they’ve encountered.

Julie Acheson and Rakitha Perera, both from the IT strategic planning & communications team, attended this year’s NAB Show to learn more about the new technology trends to enhance multimedia productions for OIT and the university.

The NAB Show is hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters.
