Prepare for Zoom Transition Starting June 1

Earlier this month, it was announced UNLV is moving to Zoom this summer. We are on track to officially launch the tool to campus on June 5. Direct communication will be sent to those impacted, and users can prepare now for the move to Zoom.

June 1: Migration of Existing Zoom Accounts
Beginning June 1, Zoom accounts using university email addresses will move to the UNLV Zoom account managed by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Recordings from the past 180 days will migrate to the UNLV account. Existing Zoom account holders can also download reports and other recordings before June 1. Zoom accounts using Rebelmail will have UNLV Zoom access through December 2023. Learn more about what happens when Zoom accounts transition.

June 5: Zoom Officially Launches to Campus
Starting June 5, employees can schedule and host virtual meetings and online or hybrid classes using Zoom. To log into Zoom, use the UNLV Zoom site. Zoom will also have integrations available with WebCampus and Panopto to create a better user experience.

June 30: Webex No Longer Available
Webex will be deactivated on June 30. Webex meetings should not be scheduled past June 29, and users need to save Webex recordings in another storage location. Recordings left in Webex will no longer be accessible after June 30. OIT can assist in downloading recordings saved in Webex after Jan. 1, 2023, and making them available upon request.

Additional announcements about the Zoom transition, training opportunities, and more documentation is coming. For more information, visit the UNLV Zoom site or contact the IT Help Desk.
