The first week of the semester goes by quickly. Between finding your classes, meeting new people, and settling into a new routine, there's a lot to do. Take a few minutes now to get your tech ready so you can make the most out of your semester.

Here’s How To Get Ready

Make sure you can sign into your account

Got a new phone? Can’t access your usual security method? You can reset your multifactor authentication (MFA) yourself and regain access to your ACE account without contacting the IT Help Desk. While you're there, make sure you have at least one backup verification method so you can still sign in if your primary method isn't available.

Connect to campus WiFi

Re-enroll in or set up eduroam WiFi on your phone and laptop before the first day of classes. After it’s set up, your device will automatically connect to eduroam whenever you’re on campus.

Check your class schedule

Knowing where you're going before the first day can make everything easier. Log in to MyUNLV to review your class schedule. While you're there, make sure there aren't any tasks that need your attention.

Check for course announcements

Your instructors may have already shared important information. Log in to WebCampus to look for announcements, your course syllabus, or other materials before your first class. Don’t see your class yet? It’ll appear in WebCampus one week before classes start.

Borrow a laptop for the semester

If you don't have a computer for class, the Technology Loan Program offers semester-long laptop loans to eligible students. Reserve a laptop before classes begin, as supplies are limited.

Don’t forget your RebelCard

Bring your RebelCard to the Premier UNLV 2026 event and keep it with you throughout the semester. It's your official UNLV ID and is used at the library, campus dining, and other campus facilities.

Get Tech Help When You Need It

If you need help with campus technology, the IT Help Desk is here to assist you.

More information about these support options is available on the IT Help Desk webpage. Visit the Students webpage on UNLV’s IT site for more tips and resources to help you get ready for the new semester.
