Finish the Semester Strong With These Student Tech Tips

As we enter the final stretch of the semester, here are a few tips and reminders to help students smoothly wrap up their spring. Check these items off to prepare for final exams and finish the semester off strong.

Find Study Spots & Resources

• Stop by a computer lab to access software, printing materials, and study spots. Check lab hours to see which labs are open throughout the week.  
• Use RebelApps to access software on any device away from campus. View the software directory to see free and discounted software available to students. 
• Use WebCampus accessibility tools to help you study in ways that work best for you. Look for the Ally icon to download files as audio, PDFs, or other formats.

Complete Final Assignments 

• Set up notifications on WebCampus and sync your WebCampus (Canvas) calendar to your Google Calendar to ensure you don’t miss out on important announcements and updates from your courses. 
• Check your grades and assignments in WebCampus early so you have time to fix anything missing or ask questions. Confirm all assignments in each of your courses show up as "Submitted."

Gear Up to Take Your Finals 

• Download Respondus Lockdown Browser for exams that require it. Use Okta Verify for easy verification and check for any Respondus updates before your exams. 
• Create, upload, and store your files in your Rebelmail Google Drive to easily locate later. Remember to transfer your data out of your drive if you are graduating this semester. 
• Grab something to eat with Grubhub using RebelCash. Students get free delivery and other perks for adding UNLV to their Grubhub account.
• Get help with technology any time of day by browsing step-by-step guides on the UNLV Knowledge Base.

Last Tasks After Finals Week

• If you’re getting a new phone, set up Okta Verify on a secondary device before trading in your phone to make sure you can still access your ACE account. 
• Activate your Rebel Alumni mail account if you’re graduating this semester. Students can only access their Rebelmail account six semesters after they graduate.  
• Download any materials, feedback, or resources you want to keep before WebCampus courses close two weeks after the semester ends.
