As the 2024 fall semester kicks off, we want to ensure that all our Rebels have an effortless start to the semester. Whether you’re just beginning your journey at UNLV or returning for another school year on campus, we’ve got the best tips for a successful start to your semester.

Students 

  • Check class schedule: Use your ACE account and the Okta Verify app to access key campus services like MyUNLV.
  • Connect to WiFi: Connect your devices to the eduroam wireless network for fast and secure connection on campus. 
  • Stay updated: Download the RebelSafe and UNLV Mobile apps, and check your RebelMail for important communication from the university.
  • Review class material: Check WebCampus for class assignments and announcements.
  • Avoid issues with artificial intelligence (AI) checks: Track changes in Google Docs with “Suggesting” mode.
  • Borrow a laptop: Use the technology loan program to borrow a laptop for the semester. 
  • Get software discounts: Download discounted software like Adobe Creative Cloud or use software available in a computer lab or remotely through RebelApps. 
  • Use self-support services: Get 24/7 support with our ACE self password reset tool, knowledge base articles, and chatbot Scarlet.

Academic Faculty 

  • Check class roster: Log into MyUNLV using your ACE account and the Okta Verify app.
  • Connect to campus WiFi: Renew access or set up your devices to the fast, secure eduroam wireless network.
  • Manage class content: Review course details on WebCampus and use Ally to check if content is accessible. 
  • Use Zoom: Host online and hybrid courses, and offer virtual office hours to students. 
  • Find computer discounts: Get discounted technology through the Personal Computer Purchasing Program.  
  • Get discounted software: Download software that suits your academic needs like Autodesk and Matlab at no cost. 
  • Record lectures: Use Panopto or copy previously recorded Panopto videos to your WebCampus courses.
  • Attend training workshops: Training for WebCampus and Panopto are available to improve productivity.
