FAQs
Rebel Announcements Via email (RAVE) is an online application designed to collect news and generate a weekly e-newsletter for students.
Students who have been enrolled at UNLV in the past three semesters are automatically subscribed. The messages are sent to students’ Rebelmail addresses (@unlv.nevada.edu). Once logged in to RAVE, faculty and staff may target groups of students by class: freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduates (master's and doctoral students), professionals (law and dental school students) or all of the above.
Faculty and staff with ACE accounts may submit messages on behalf of their units or students.
RAVE was created to deliver campus information to students in a reliable, efficient, consistent format. The e-newsletter also minimizes the number of email messages delivered to students.
RAVE goes to students whereas UNLV Today and Official messages go to UNLV employees.
SEND (Student email Newsletter from Departments) is an e-newsletter system for colleges and departments. If you want to get news to students in a particular department, like all freshmen anthropology majors, use SEND instead of RAVE.
No, you do not need to subscribe to RAVE. The announcements are delivered to the appropriate student groups automatically.
RAVE welcomes information related to UNLV that may be of interest to students. Read content guidelines and policies for more information.
Messages are available for 30 days.
In order to keep the attention of the reader, it is important to keep messages brief and easy-to-read. The content of the messages cannot exceed 3,000 characters, including HTML formatting.
