Cabinet Annual Technology Review
Report to President’s Cabinet on alignment of IT and university priorities:
- Review summarized input from campus governance groups on strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for impactful digital transformation
- Review progress on digital transformation from prior year and mid-year report
- Authorize digital transformation priorities roadmap
IT Governance Group Charges
- Meet with campus governance groups to gather information and inform IT strategy
- Academic Council (meet twice a year)
- Faculty Senate (solicit faculty input)
- Student Governance (GPSA, CSUN)

- Cyber Security Team
- Summarize input from campus governance groups to inform Cabinet Technology Summit discussion of digital transformation priorities
- Oversee progress on digital transformation initiatives derived from cabinet’s priorities
- Summarize feedback from campus units and governance groups on the impact digital transformation initiatives completed in the concluding biannual cycle.
- Develop reports to facilitate Cabinet Technology Summits and transparency for campus constituents
OneIT supports the vision of a collaborative university community, where central and distributed IT experts work together to enhance and transform campus technology services.
Each semester, distributed IT partners meet with central IT leadership and the Vice President for Digital Transformation and Chief Information Officer (VPDT/CIO) to:
- Align specialized technology needs with enterprise efficiencies
- Share insights on strategic challenges and opportunities
- Strengthen a cohesive IT community to support campus needs
- Collaborate on the implementation of IT initiatives
Led by the Chief Information Security Officer, the Cyber Security Team (CST) includes distributed and central IT specialists whose primary responsibilities are to:
- Create and foster a campus-wide approach to information technology security
- Recommend policies, procedures, and technical measures to support the development and maintenance of a secure information technology environment
- Promote awareness on IT security issues, compliance changes, threat mitigation, and individual responsibility for helping ensure a safe campus IT environment
Campus Governance Groups
Leveraging the existing campus governance structure, IT governance representatives engage groups at their established meetings to gather feedback and share progress updates. Regular interactions boost collaboration and inspire broader campus input. Focused priorities and biannual reporting of accomplishments empowers representatives to oversee accountability for implementing IT strategy.
