Use the checklist to ensure your computer meets the minimum requirements for online, hybrid, and remote courses. Additional requirements will be listed in the course syllabus and MyUNLV course description.
Computer Specifications
Using a desktop or laptop computer depends on your personal preference. You do not need to purchase a new device if your computer meets the minimum requirements.

Chromebooks, Microsoft Surfaces, smartphones, or other mobile devices are not recommended for online, hybrid, or remote coursework. They may not support required applications.

Internet Considerations
- Streaming and gaming can affect internet connectivity during courses.
- Wired connections are recommended. WiFi connections can be impacted by the distance from the router and interference from electronics.
- Your provider’s performance can vary depending on community usage or localized outages.
- Be cautious using public WiFi as it can vary in quality and present a security risk.

UNLV students get access to Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Chat) through their Rebelmail account.
