Report Suspicious Emails With New “Hoxhunt Report” Button In Rebelmail

Listen to this announcement

A “Hoxhunt report” button will automatically appear on all Rebelmail accounts starting April 29. Hoxhunt makes it easy to report suspicious emails in your inbox and keeps our campus safe.

How it works

  • Think something looks suspicious? Use the “Hoxhunt Report” button to report it.
  • Emails reported through Hoxhunt will be automatically sent to and reviewed by the university’s information security team.

What’s next

  • “Hoxhunt Report” button: In the coming weeks, this button will automatically appear in your Rebelmail account. Once available, locate the “Hoxhunt Report” button and report any suspicious emails that may appear in your inbox.
  • Check your inbox: Keep an eye out for reminders and further information about the button in the coming weeks.

Added training for students

  • Students currently enrolled in at least one course at UNLV: Along with the button, they’ll receive additional cybersecurity training, where they’ll occasionally receive simulated emails. Report them and earn instant tips and points.
  • Student workers and graduate assistants: They can report suspicious emails using the “Hoxhunt Report” button in both their UNLVMail and Rebelmail accounts. Simulated emails and additional training will now be sent to their Rebelmail accounts instead.

Everyone at UNLV plays a role in keeping our campus secure, especially our students. Now with Hoxhunt, Rebels can develop safer online habits and sharpen their cybersecurity instincts. For more information about email safety, visit the cybersecurity webpage or contact the IT Help Desk.
