Dates: July 13-17, 2026
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (daily)
Location: UNLV Campus
Who: Students entering grades 9-12
Cost: $200 per student (lunch included)

Become an AI innovator through interactive lessons, hands-on labs, and team challenges led by UNLV’s IT team.
Build Your AI Skills
Learn the basics of generative AI, how to write prompts like a pro, troubleshoot responses, and pick the best AI for the task.
Understand AI Technology
See how AI actually works and get a better understanding of what it can and can’t do.
Spot Mistakes and Misinformation
AI isn’t perfect. You’ll investigate mistakes, bias, and misinformation so you can use AI responsibly and ethically.
Solve Real-World Problems
Discover how to use AI to organize projects, brainstorm ideas, and get more done in less time for your school and daily life.
AI Pitch Challenge
Put your skills to the test. Work in teams to design an AI-powered solution for a real-world problem. On the final day, pitch your idea to the judges in this Shark Tank-style showcase.

No coding or AI experience is required. Activities include optional challenge levels so both beginners and advanced learners can participate.
Students should bring a refillable water bottle and comfortable clothing for a classroom/lab environment. Technology and lab resources will be provided unless otherwise noted.
The UNLV AI Explorers Camp is coordinated by UNLV’s IT team, the department that supports campus technology and digital learning. Camp sessions are led by our IT staff and student leaders, creating a supportive learning environment where students can ask questions, experiment with new tools, and collaborate with peers. In addition to learning about AI, participants gain exposure to a university campus and explore how technology skills connect to future college and career opportunities.
Students will be supervised by IT staff and student leaders at all times. The program follows UNLV youth program expectations, including required forms and staff compliance with minor protection policies.
Students do not need prior experience with AI or coding. The camp is designed for beginners, with optional challenge levels for students who want to level up their skills.
A core focus of the camp is ethical AI use and academic integrity. Students will learn how to use AI tools responsibly while still building real-life skills.
Daily lunch is provided through UNLV Dining Commons. More details will be shared with registered participants.
