Higher Education Professionals Get a Peek Into How RebelCard’s Used In High-Tech UNLV Facilities

Door access, Dining Dollars, and countless of campus resources are all one RebelCard swipe away. The official campus I.D. card has various uses on campus, many of which were showcased to higher education professionals from around the nation.
The RebelCard office hosted a tour on April 10 for the National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU), who held their annual conference right here in Southern Nevada. Established over two decades ago, NACCU serves members of campus identification programs at higher education institutions across the country.
This year, members who attended the conference had the opportunity to join Christina Mosakowski, RebelCard services senior program manager, as she led over 50 guests through a handful of UNLV’s innovative facilities with the help of department leaders. Each facility showcased the unique disciplines offered at UNLV and how RebelCard plays a role in helping these programs run smoothly every day.
“As a member of the NACCU, UNLV was chosen to give a tour for the association’s conference held in town,” Mosakowski said. “Many who attended said it was the best campus tour they had been on. They were especially impressed with the layout of our RebelCard office, our use of RebelHours, and the GrubHub delivery robots, which dropped off water for our attendees throughout the tour.”
Tour attendees had the opportunity to visit a variety of areas on campus such as the RebelCard office, Student Union, Bookstore, William F. Harrah College of Hospitality, Lied Library, Fertitta Football Complex, and Stan Fulton International Gaming Institute. As they made their way through these facilities, attendees watched the golf simulator being used by students in the PGA Golf Management Program, explored the new Dreamscape Learn Center for immersive learning that features advanced virtual reality technologies, and caught a glimpse into the innovative equipment used by our Rebels football team everyday. As their last stop on the tour, attendees got the full Vegas experience by testing out gambling machines designed by UNLV students right here on campus.
During the conference, RebelCard also won NACCU’s Best Card Design award. The award is given to members of the association whose campus card is unique, leaves an impact, and creates an immediate association with their institution.
