Temporary Chat in Gemini

You can now start a temporary chat or delete existing chats in the Gemini app.

Temporary Chat
Temporary chats are not saved to your Gemini chat history.

To start a temporary chat:

  1. Go to the the Gemini app.
  2. Click the Temporary Chat  Temporary Chat button in the upper-right corner.

Delete a Chat

To delete an existing chat:

  1. Go to the the Gemini app.
  2. At the top, click on the Menu icon Gemini Menu icon.
  3. Under Recent, click the chat you want to delete.
  4. At the top, tap More More icon in Geminiand then Delete Delete icon in Gemini.

  • These features will be available for all UNLVMail (@unlv.edu) accounts and Rebelmail accounts (@unlv.nevada.edu).

Gemini App for Mac

Google has released the Gemini app for macOS as a native desktop experience. This application allows you to access Gemini directly from your desktop without switching between windows or tabs. The app includes a global keyboard shortcut (Option + Space) to provide instant assistance while you work.

Gemini in Docs

Google is expanding access to Gemini in Google Workspace for Education, bringing AI-powered features directly into your Google Workspace apps. These tools are designed to help streamline work, enhance creativity, and save time within the tools you already use.

With Gemini now integrated across Workspace apps, you can:

  • Gmail: Draft emails, summarize long threads, and get AI-powered responses to stay on top of communication (coming soon).
  • Docs: Create and refine content using “Help me write” and Gemini in the side panel (now available).
  • Slides: Generate presentations and create original images using AI (now available).
  • Forms: Quickly build forms and view AI-generated summaries of (now available).
  • Sheets: Organize and analyze data with AI-powered functions and insights (coming soon).

Availability

  • These features will be available for all UNLVMail (@unlv.edu) accounts and Rebelmail accounts (@unlv.nevada.edu) for graduate students.
  • Non-graduate Rebelmail users will have access to Gmail features only and may request a Google Workspace for Education Plus license to access additional features at no cost.
